I'm Tia, and I'm so glad you're here.
Flapjack Theatrics is a theatre (etc!) company with a unique model. It's a one-ADHD-woman venture, but every project involves a small number of very close and beloved collaborators. Family members, friends. And each project aligns with this cancer veteran's values of human-first work ethic, and thoughtfully welcoming and caring for audiences.
Glad you asked!
"Flapjack" is a playful word!
Pancakes are cozy and comfy.
Flapjack octopuses are awe-inspiring (and “aww”-inspiring) for kids and adults alike.
Plus, the flapjack octopus can make itself look like different things. Mostly, a pancake or an umbrella:).
Our work is playful.
We aim to create cozy, comfortable environments for audiences of all ages to feel open to awe.
Also, our theatre work includes both in-person and made-for-Zoom shows, and sometimes even comes in completely different forms. Like a podcast or a piece of mail. But maybe we’ll try for an umbrella sometime....
A joyful, in-person, family-friendly play!
Available for groups of 4 to 40 humans.
A grand adventure about a group of friends, their desert fort, and a wild animal with designs on their most prized possession. A tale spun by one actor from a crate full of junk and an audience full of imagination.
Best for intimate, non-theatre spaces (living rooms! Libraries! Shops! Community centers!); booking on a sliding scale. Inquire by email!
The From-Home Fest is an annual virtual/telephone theatre festival hosted by Flapjack! The Fest doesn't happen till autumn, but there are two innovative and gentle pieces by Fest artists that you can access anytime on the Fest site.
An oracle. A room of keys. Italy. (Italy?) Well…Perceived Italy. These are just a few of the stops in Sophi’s quest to save her father. This whimsical and meaningful script, written by Tia, is available to read and license through Uproar Theatrics!
Current run: Big Britches Productions in Bingen, WA! March 2025
