Tia Shearer Bassett

"totally believable and enchanting"    "a one-woman tour de force"     "a straight up chameleon"

I'm a freelance actor with over 20 years' experience performing for all ages, specializing in multi-character roles for companies like the Kennedy Center's Theatre for Young Audiences, Imagination Stage, and Nashville Children's Theatre. I'm a longtime company member of Only Make Believe, performing in children’s hospitals and special education programs. I'm an audio description writer with credits including the fantastic Marvel series, Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur. I love puns, poetry, and tiny things. As a kid, I wanted to be a spy. Also a pet shop owner. I grew up to be someone who has played a number of animal characters, and who pops up in unexpected places to do theatre.

Matthew Bassett

I'm an actor/director/coach with over 20 years' experience. As a performer, I’ve been on stages around the southeast U.S. and on television (a little). In over a decade of teaching and coaching, my former students have gone on to high-level programs and universities across the country (and into Europe), appearing on film, television, Broadway, national tours and regional theatres across the country. My directing work has been seen across the U.S., and I’ve been produced as a playwright a few times. I’m currently a Creative Director with Graphic Audio, LLC, an award-winning audiobook company based in Maryland. I’m also a performer with Graphic Audio - among hundreds of other roles, you can hear me as the voice of Harry Dresden in the ongoing GA adaptations of The Dresden Files. As a kid, I wanted to be a paleontologist, which makes a sort of sense since I look at theatre creation as “unearthing a story” (I wish I coined this, I stole it from Robert Altman). I love that I have spent two decades making work with the love of my life.
